hmmm..for such a high level you should of been learned this..just shoot the trap an it will blow up.

Pop out the gun and fire at it-exploding it faster than just setting it and running like a Forrest Gump.
I have never set a trap with my RAcast, I don't want to run out.
If you run out of traps, just go back to the Hospital and they refill it for the small fee(along with your health).
As said, you can shoot the traps, or you can set another trap in close proximity. Setting two confuse or two freeze traps is a waste, so follow up with a damage trap.

You can use damage traps to set off other traps, too...
One of my favorite ways to use traps is to drop a damage trap, then drop two ice traps on opposite sides of the damage trap's blast radius. When the damage trap goes off, it sets off the two ice traps, which freeze everything in a fairly large area. It's not so useful for solo play, but works wonders online.
if you're a ranger, a shotgun or photon launcher does wonders for setting off traps because it's almost guaranteed that one of the targets will be the trap. but if you're a hunter, go with the almighty varista or any other handgun to detonate them
I use my traps to kill slimes cus it hits em in "puddle mode" for a fair amount of damage, at least twice what one of my shots can do.
I'm to lazy to set traps....
hm, so far i have to actually play one of my android characters.... but on dreamcast my pattern with my racaseal on ultimate was like this:
equipped: yasminkov 2000 or red handgun (= any handgun)
advance to a horde of monsters, set an ice trap, get back a little bit (usually towards the camera), then turn around again and shot the trap on short distance. it will set off and freeze all monsters that where dumb enough to try to surround me.
this would be perfect for rangers who usually have a gun equipped.
