PSO2 keeps crashing when I select a character

I've been playing for over a year. And I had a few crashes of course but nothing special.
Yesterday I was online for hours, when I suddenly crashed inside the campship.
Afterwards I haven't been able to select a character again.
I have updated my graphics card driver (nvidia Geforce gtx 760) and I even removed pso2 from my pc, including registry entries, and then reinstalled it.

But the problem remains!

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, story patch was not installed.

Any idea how to fix this?

Just happened to me last week. Delete your PHANTASYSTARONLINE2 folder in Documents; this folder remains even when you uninstall. It is most likely a corruption of one of the files the game saves there (like user.pso2). Mind that after you do this, you'll have to change some of your settings back, like resolution settings, shaders, FPS, and various things under the in-game options, but key bindings will be the same since they are apparently serverside.

I actually got it to work already.
It was either this or one of the 10 viruses that bypassed my normal anti-virus software and were found by adaware.

It was not, however, user.pso2. I copied my old file back so I don't have to change all settings again and there is no problem at all.

It's BACK!!!
The old user.pso2 I have been using for a couple of days without a problem. But now that I installed english patches it's crashing again, starting with the first time I switched characters (not the first time I enter character selection).
This is just bizarre.

Well, now I installed the English and large file patches manually and didn't use the tweaker and it works again.
