I figured out what to do if 2 or more people in the MPA happen to get a Rare Gel at the same time. This happened to me on the first one I joined.

One person has to stick with there Gel, the other 11 do an 11/12 MPA.

This way 11 people get 2 rare kills, while 1 person only gets a single kill.

That's the fairest way to do it because:

The alternative is for 12 people to get 1 kill, as opposed to 1 person getting 1 kill and 11 getting 2 kills.
Even if Player A abandons his rare gel to fight Player B's rare gel, he will have fought only 1 rare gel. Except now nobody else can fight the other one.

It's likely enough for you to get a 13* with one Gel anyway, so it shouldn't be too bothersome to miss one.
