Just wondering if anyone in the Southern California area will be going this weekend.

"The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a two-day celebration of the written word and one of the country's premier literary events. The Festival is free to the public and held each year on the last weekend of April on the UCLA campus. This year's Festival will be held on April 26 and 27, 2003.

The events will include special lectures by celebrated authors, book reviews, writing workshops, and storytelling at two stages in the children's area. A panel of respected judges from the literary world will also be on hand to award the annual Book Prizes for outstanding offerings from the past year.

The Festival promises something for everyone, from seemingly endless rows of booths to exciting events and demonstrations on six different stages. The Festival also features book signings by today's leading authors, poetry readings, an extensive children's area and books for sale.

The Festival of Books celebrates books as a valuable source of learning, information and entertainment, and is an ideal way to spend your weekend. Don't miss this fantastic event. It's the 'big cheese' of literary events."

Here's a list of the authors that are scheduled to be there. If anyone wants pics of a particular author, let me know, and I'll take some. ^__^

    L.A. has everything. My proof:

The first stage I came across had a special perfornamce, but before the main attraction came out, Bob from Sesame Street gave a speech.

    As I waited, I noticed a cutie.

While oogling over the cute, the main attraction hit the stage.

Across from the booth I was working at, a celebrity was spotted.

    Then another celebrity came out.

A few more cuties strolled past. (1) (2)

Tom Arnold has a book? And people want it signed?

Despite the movie, he's not dead.

    No idea. >__> (1) (2)

Even pornstars like Christy Canyon need a quick cig-break.

    Too cool!

All men should love and hug their monkeys.

    Another yummy cutie.

He needs to make the money for you to win.

The Hollywood Madame herself, Heidi Fleiss, actually has a book, too.

Once Heidi arrived, so did Howard Stern's Melrose Larry Green.

After Melrose heckled Heidi for a bit with "Come meet Heidi Fleiss! The beautiful Heidi Fleiss in person!" the manager of the Borders booth came over and told him to mention the Borders booth in his heckling. So the heckling turned to "Come meet Heidi Fleiss at the Borders booth! The beautiful Heidi Fleiss in person at the Borders booth!"

The book festival wound down, and I headed to the Getty.

Right when I got out of the tram to the Getty, I heard a loud splat on the ground less than a foot from where I was.

When I looked up, I saw the culprit.

Before looking around, we went to eat, and when we arrived, I realized that even high-class people are dirty.

I was at the Getty to only see Bill Viola's THE PASSIONS and the Surrealist Muse.

Cameras weren't allowed in THE PASSIONS exhibit, but I took one anyways!

Eventually, I had to leave the Getty by way of the tram.

    And that's what I did yesterday. ^__^
