    Default Been a while

    Hello all,

I was thinking of taking the dive back into the game after a 2 year break. I was thinking of making a Huney type build from the original PSO (Had so much fun playing with that class). Now I would have to run with a female Numan. But my question would be. Will the Fi/Te combo work well together seeing as the techer is primarily for buffs/improve healing? Or would a Fi/Fo work better? What would be the best route to go as far as skills go?

    Thank you

Not familiar with Huney, but in PSO2, as far as I know Fi/Te and Fi/Fo aren't popular combinations.
There was a time where Fo/Fi? was good. Haven't heard much about it for a while now though.

It sounds like you're aiming for a melee caster type? If so, perhaps Dual Blades Bouncer may be your kind of thing?

Huney was a class in pso that was a female newman hunter and could cast technics

So you got it right on the dot,the closest to HUnewearl would be some form of Bouncer

    To Answer the OP

Possible combinations you are looking for are
Bo/Hu which focuses on melee dual blades and can cast technics but wont do much damage with techniques or have good Shifta or Deband since they are useless without Techer Mainclass.Unless you have a strong based damage 13* you'd have to go Element stance which would mean you'd need dual blades for every element which is much less a problem that a year ago however still difficult if you do not have Premium for the weapon trade passes

The other build would be TE/HU which would have the best support and since HUnter comes with a lot of damage multipliers the fact that TE offers very little to melee offense is less of a problem
However this class would be expensive as the Techer equipable Hunter weapons are expensive

What you are looking for should be Fi/Bo. Bo got the healing and some support (field and techs), Fi got the daggers, double saber. Bo also provide dual blade with some really nice PA. Chances are, you will end up just using daggers and dual blade, once u get lazy and want mobs to die quick.

bouncer is THE melee+caster hybrid in 1 class. However, you won't use tech for damage at all, mostly just disruption (like knocking something down from air).

fi/te is pretty good to spam PA but you need strong equipments or kuron ones which make you can spam more and more

BO is not really the hybrid class. Its tech is a bit lacking, even as FI/BO.
The only true hybrid class in this game is TE/BR, which has very good melee and also technique (utilizes Rikauteri).

That's likely to mislead. What you use for melee are a tech weapon which has no PAs. TE/BR delivers only 60% of BR/HU katana damage, so you're not really relying on the melee school as it exists in PSO2.

who needs PAs when you have wand lover for mobbing ?

and tech for both mobbing and bossing?

not using PA doesnt mean it's not melee, because what do you call wand smacking then?

You could make just as much argument that spamming Nazan and Gigrants on rod FO is melee. While technically true, since melee is a range, it ignores that melee design in PSO2 is built around the use of a PA sequence instead of techniques or ranged PA selection. If you tell someone that they are using a hybrid class in PSO2, then they would expect to have access to the melee part of the game's design. Because that is not the case, calling TE/BR a melee/tech hybrid is technically true, but misleading. If OP is looking to play a hybrid class as someone who has played the game before and who is familiar with how melee weapons are addressed, he should be aware of that.

while i agree about the PA thing

using closed ranged tech as an example is really pushing it too far from the point

Te wand smacking is obviously melee, it's not a "closed ranged tech" (actually if you really splitting hair it kinda is)

also from my point of view Te was designed to be a melee style hack&smash using a different style and system from PA.

    feel free to disagree though
