It's hard to make a video since you can't really see it from your own perspective very well, but I can present this:

Probably. For some reason with how you guys explained it before, I thought that it was something else before. But yeah, if something that uses one doesn't have a black alpha map, it'll use that environment map everywhere when repacked generally. Make sure you have a program that can add those channels properly though. I love paint.net, but it's bad for that.
Started messing with the Skyboxes.
Desert is easily the coolest for the lobby. It fits perfectly.

Stupid post count
Someone reminded me I ought to post a compiled build of the NIFL tool: http://www.mediafire.com/download/b0...NIFL_v0.05.zip
Someone sent this to me since it uses some funny libraries and I've had a lot going on. It unfortunately does not seem to convert from NIFL at this time back to the older format, but it CAN dump the model to .obj which is still very useful.
Unfortunately, it also means that pets are a little out of the question for now. There's no variants of their models in the older format since they're so new and there appears to be some issue or another with swapping other things over them. I do plan to look into it more when I have some time.
Did you try saving it as a DXT5 when doing that? Not sure if it would help or not, but it might for this.
There's definitely some nice little combinations. You can play with the internals a bit as well if you're careful.
PSO music for PSO2 areas (you might want to rehost these files)
Tested for a while and had no crashes or anything.
Also, here's a Lavis Dual Blade over the tri dumpling camo.Code:mother earth of dishonesty -> Forest the kink in the wind and the way -> Cave empty space out of control -> Mine revolution to the origin -> Ruins a longing to ancient times -> Floating Facility tricktrack -> Extreme Quest jungle -> Skyscape abysmal ball -> Seabed nostalgia in solitude -> Quarry entry into the crater -> Desert underworld -> Sanctuary
Hmm, well that's cool. I can up that pack next time I'm at my computer. Was it literally just renaming those files or was it more complicated? Either way, getting the names of what music was what would be useful. Also out of curiosity, do the battle tracks activate properly? Would love information on this because it's really not something I've looked a whole bunch at.
NIFL is not an encryption format. Remember what I said before (like anyone pays attention to my posts), its to do with how the files are structured. Old models use the same VTBF system as a lot of other files do (CML, etc), ie; a tagging system. This is how you find the various specific sections of data in these files.
The new format (NIFL) instead uses a pointer table, which is a series of addresses that refer locations inside the file, which is where specific data is at. The pointers are located inside a nof0 tag usually at the end of the file. So instead of a loop of tag -> data -> tag -> data til EoF, it instead goes something like header -> data -> pointer table.
