Maintenance extensions have become a lot more frequent ever since EP4 started. EP3 only had maybe 5, total.

I blame the EP4 directors.

They tend to always break something that warrents an Emergency Maintenance when extended Maintenance happens.

To be fair, iirc there's no maintenance next week due to golden week so maint extension is probably due to Sega keeping those hamsters running the server fed cuz hey, no one wants to go to work on a holiday

They still have to keep some staff on standby in case of emergency.

Yeah, but they are probably limited in function like maintaining server function overall. If a major bug has been discovered, contacting the appropriate higher ups and devs would probably be difficult. And given Sega's recent track record on the returner thing, they'd want things ironed out and not take any chances before they bring server up.
