How do I find other players to play with?

For this being an online multiplayer game it seems pretty difficult to actually play with other players. The past hour I've joined random parties and either the player was already near the end of the quest and it was over before I even caught up to them, I was kicked out, or the player just straight up left the party after I joined. Why is this the case? I wish this game had an option to open up a room and travel between the areas without having to be in a quest, like pso1. The quests are extremely short and it seems impossible to build rapport with other players. I'm tired of playing solo. It's killing my enjoyment of this game. How do I play with other players without having friends to go from quest to quest with? Or is this the only way?

I would honestly look into joining a team, that accepts new players.

You should be able to make friends / find people to play with.

That's weird. I made so many friends through joining random parties, EQ missions, and just talking to people at the lobby.
