To me, the creepiness of the eyes comes from how they look like they are being forced wide-open like some kind of creepy doll (especially with the way she is always staring straight ahead in your shots), but I feel that combined with the makeup and general aesthetic, it works really well.I like them 'cause they have no that nasty annoying gloss.
