I remembered how much I liked using megid in Ver.1, so I recentyl made a FOnewearl, and I've found it to be horribly underpowered in Ep. 1 & 2.

My FOnewearl's currently level 48, with an effective MST of 965 and megid lv.28, and I can't kill a damned thing with it. Monsters in hard mode, offline, take 5-6 shots to kill; that's over 300 TP, when in a lot of cases I can one or two-shot them with a simple tech.

Is megid just woefully underpowered, or does level make a big difference?

as you get farther in the game where there more powerful monsters it gets herder to hit them, but as you get stronger you will be whippin ass with megid. I hope that helped.

Let me rephrase it this way:

    1. How large a role does MST determine in Megid's chance of successfully hitting?

    2. Does Megid use a different calculation that other damage-based techs to determine if it hits? I seem to recall becoming more successful with Megid on ver.1 as my character's level increased, even though Megid's tech level did not.

    3. Is Megid actually useful in ultimate? I've dumped nearly 100 mind mats and many level 27+ tech disks into my FOnewearl so far, so I'd hate to start over, but if Megid is always going to suck, I'd rather start a different force now, than 50 levels from now.

I'm guessing that you're trying this in Ep 1. You should use it in Ep 2, you'll rule the place with it, especially with the level you have.

    the formula is

    (Tech level power + mst) / 5 x weapon bonus x guard bonus x character bonuses x (1 - resistance /100 of enemy)

    or

    (mst + power) / 5x (100 - tolerance of enemy) %

these spells have a fixed effect per level:

megid anti shifta deband jellen zalure

megid's success ratio of every level depends on the dark resistance of every enemy.

So, in other words, it's never going to get any better, only worse?

Yeah, I seriously doubt that lousy 2% increase in power over what I already have once I get level 30 is going to even come close to compensating for the absurd dark resist monsters have in ultimate.

    *grumbles*

Now I'm not sure if I wanna trash this character or not. :

From my experience, Megid is worthless in Ep 1 but in Ep 2, higher levels can work wonders.
