Since I surf these boards mostly at school (OWATC), and I'm learning Flash right now, I thought I'd ask for a bit of help. See, the book I'm working from is a piece of ****. As for photoshop, I'm just looking to get better at it and to find some better filters.

So ah...anyone got some pointers? Perhaps a website? Whatever you have...I could certainly use the help...

Oh yes, here's an example of what my friends say is my best work with Photoshop 5.5. Hopefully it's at least decent... ::sighs::

My advice to you as far as Photoshop goes would be to try to use filters as little as possible. I rarely use image filters other than for image correction. Though I cannot live without Blur. As for you example: (Just guessing here) It looks like you cut out that HUcast, changed its hue/saturation, applied lighting effects, then placed it over a Render->Clouds. And then used a font that is named Ancientscript (mine is anyhow). Just curious, was I right? Oh hey. you can maybe check out my site: rekonstructive.com. Its basically my small collection of personal graphic design work. Maybe you'll see some interesting stuff there. My advice, keep it up! Learn from your mistakes, and just kick ass everytime you do something.

If you're looking for good Flash tips, the best place to start looking is http://www.flashkit.com . If youve got any other questions about it, feel free to post them and I'll be glad to help you. =)

::blinks:: Hey, people responded...I'm so lucky!

Rekonstruct - Anyway, you're exactly right about what I did on the image. Rendered some clouds in (can't seem to make or find a good background... ::sighs:, replaced color from purple to orange, removed some white speckles after cutting him out, then used the Papyrus script for his quote. You're pretty good...oh yeah, and used a spotlight effect on him.

SeanPyro - Question here...what are played out grids and scanlines? Don't recognize either of those two...keep in mind I'm pretty new to the graphics stuff here. Oh yes, and the ATC is going pretty well...although my JavaScript class is absolute murder. I'm really bad at programming languages you see, so it's quite painful to go to that class every day.

Lenneth - Thanks for that post on the website, I'll check it out as soon as I'm done writing up this reply to everyone. I'll let everyone know later on today...

Just to let you guys know, I'm only around to post from 8:00 AM to about 3:00 PM (Mountain time). Actually, I think I'll go find out how many .beats that is right now...

Okay, from 666 .beats (weird...) to 958 .beats. Regardless, talk to ya later!
