Going to start saving soon for the parts for a new PC, which I'll buy in a years time.

Till then, I'm going upgrade my current PC, to get the most of it.

First thing I'm takling is upgrading to something better than my crappy 32MB Vanta card (sorta like a TNT 1.5); Look up radeon on eBay and discovered this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....gory=3762&rd=1

A 128MB Radeon 9200SE, for $90 AUD plus postage.

I'm after the opions of whether this is a good buy or not. Things I'm considering in this decision are:

  • My mobo only supports AGP 2X, so spending hundreds on something like a 9700 Pro would be pointless as the high end features would bottle neck, meaning I would have good value for money since I wouldn't be getting the most out of it for a year.
  • Because I'm not upgrading for another year, I might as well get something budget as things like the 9700/9800 Pro will drop in price somewhat by then.
  • Anything would be an improvement over this crappy 32MB Vanta card.
