Modern Medicine

For the past few days, I've been recovering from a minor head cold. However, today I woke up and It felt like my throught (SP? I can't type today) was ripped up. I called my doctor to make an appointment. Shortly after that, I started to cough up blood. On the way to the doctors office, I had blood all over the Dashboard. When I got there, he looked me over, asked about what was going on with my cough, and I even had to cough up blood for him. Finally he comes back with his head down.
"I'm sorry to say this, but there is nothing we can do. You have a severe Viral Infection, but there is no medication to help slow it down. Just drink Plenty of fluids, Mr.(My last name here). It should go away in about a week. If It gets worse, call and make another appointment."
Now you can't tell me that with todays modern medicine, there isn't something to prevent coughing up of blood? They have medicine for Preventing pregnancy, stopping poor blood clots, Viagra, and even a pill for diareahh. But why not Coughing up BLOOD?! It's really hard to clean out of carpeting...

I hate modern medicine for a different reason.
I can't skive off work due to illness as easilly as when I was a young 'un!
They've got a cure for everything these days!

I remember the good old days. Life expectantcey used to be 40! Short, sweet, fast paced and ended quickly.
These days it's a slow walk downhill...

Now, it's been 5-6 days since my first encounter with my 'viral infection of doom. I'm warning you now...

people today are total wusses when it comes to illness. (i'm not talking about coughing up blood but this is a good place to rant) when people get a minor cold they feel a need to run out and buy every medication under the sun for it. same thing for non-migraine headaches. i get bad headaches every once and again but ever since i've stopped taking tylenol every 3 seconds the headaches have lessened up.
