which hunter should i use?

Hmmm....lately I've been having the urge to start a hunter type character for the sake of having at least one of each character type. So I just want to hear what type of hunters you think are the best. Maybe give some names too. Thanks in advance.

If you are offline, either HUmar or HUnewearl(most likely the HUnewearl). If you are online, go with HUcast. As for the HUcaseal, if you are really into double sabers then try them.

I'm personally a big fan of HUcaseals... A lot of power, good accuracy to back it up, and you get to use a few of the more interesting weapons well, like Double Sabers, Daggers, and Fists. I think it's an especially good idea if you want to play one of every class, because you get to the bare essentials of playing a hunter. (getting in things' faces and slicing them to ribbons) HUcasts are also good for the same reasons, but I like the HUcaseals accuracy and evasion better.

HUmar: Jack of all Trades... Master of none, anyway has higher ATA than HUcast and HUnewearl, the best choice for dupers/hackers, 90% of HUmars are newbies ((i was a HUmar too)), their Jellen/Zalure is something to be proud of =D

HUnewearl: Looks good, good stats, good moves with claws, low ATA/ATP, nothing that a MAG can't fix, or some units

HUcast: ATP King of the game, lowest ATA anyway, again fix it with a MAG or some units, no techs, but uber useful traps on ultimate, confuse and freeze your enemies =D

HUcaseal: Female HUcast who has a great body, someone called her J.Lobot for a reason, special moves that no one else has, traps as well, best ATA of the HUs, higher ATP than HUnewearl

IMHO i don't know which one to choose, HUmar i guess i won't, i did once, but deleted him, now i'm having a lot of fun with my HUnewearl but this is my 7th one, i didn't tweak her anyway ^_~, also i love the moves of the HUcaseal, but you can't forget about the friggin high ATP of the HUcast... i'd say go for the LOOKS!!!

for soloing, its HUnewearl hands down. good techs+hunter power=best solo char in the gaem IMO

for online/offline mutiplayer, its either HUcast or (eww...)HUmar(i feel dirty just saying the word...)

HUcaseal for something new and different, loads of fun

Trust me, if you want a definate challenge, making a FOnewearl (the most melee-disinclined character in the game, IMO) and turning her into a worthy battle fiend is a hard yet rewarding task.

Very hard, very very damn rewarding. The low HP, ATP and the low DFP combined with the fact that you'll always be in the action with the HUs of the game means plenty of deaths... but plenty of challenge if you're a smart, cautious PSO player.

Plus, the ability to use all of the techniques is bonus when you get sick of hacking at enemies. Megid 30 anyone?

Personally, I'd go with HUnewearl first, then HUmar, then HUcaseal, then HUcast.

I have both of the non-droid ones, and they're quite fun. HUmars are a bit tougher physically, but their techs suck, and some of their battle animations suck. HUnewearls get mostly good animations, but are weaker physically. However, they're much better with techs. And claws.

HUcasts are too similar to HUmars, cept without techs and with lower ATA, but WAY higher ATP. Pretty good for online or Cmode, though.

HUcaseals would be interesting if you like HUnewearls, but want something a little more accurate and stronger. No techs, but especially great with Daggers, TwinSwords, and TwinSabers. In general, they're good with just about any weapon.

Please not a HUmar ! they totally suck, are amazingly ugly and have awful reputation.
HUnewearl is ok I suppose, but Androids really rule that class.

No way. I have a sentiment for HUmars (I started with this class and enjoyed the game A LOT) and I don`t really think that they are for "dupers/hackers" - thats just a plain STEREOTYPE. So what that many newbies choose this class? This means it`s good and fun to play with. HUmars don`t have to be masters in anything - they make it up with quite good use of every skill. And that`s what some call lame? Grow up...

I personally think HUmar is the best Hunter on a team with a Force. [Best for teamplay, good solo too]

1. HUmar has better ATA than a HUcast. Don't use the "HUcast can use S-Parts argument." First, how many HUcasts are actually going to go and GET one? Secondly, the HUcast's DFP becomes quite pitiful once S-Parts is equipped.

2. The HUmar does not have to be babysat by the FO. He can heal himself and needy droids that are out of the FO's range.

3. The HUmar has the second highest ATP in the game, so it receives a significant boost by the FO's SD.

4. HUmar has decent evasion, that combined with Deband and the Force's Jellen makes him capable of dodging most attacks.

5. The HUmar is proficient with a wide variety of weapons, even a rifle (Holy Ray). They are excellent companions in Tower runs thanks to this.

6. HUnewearls might be excellent soloing, but alongside a FO they are quite obselete. Their ATP is subpar, their HP is only decent, and they have a whopping 10 more DFP than HUmar (which prevents about 2 damage per attack, but since HUmar gets way more HP, this doesn't mean anything).

7. HUcaseals have excellent ATA, but are overall are the weakest in vital Hunter stats, in my opinion. Plus, most female weapon animations do not provide enough forward lunge motion or enemy knockback.

Too many n00bs use HUmars, so they get bashed. However, a good HUmar is an EXCELLENT addition to the team. He doesn't totally dominate any one area, but alongside competent teammates, his variant abilities allow him to assist whoever necessary. Nuff said.
