Action replay memory card in + rares : Will you get any?

No, I'm not cheating, before you ask/flame/or get annoyed.

With that out the way, what I want to know is, if the action replay freeloader is used to boot Ep 1+2 Plus, will having the memory card thingy in make a difference to rare drops? Do I need the action replay memory card in in the first place, if I'm just using the Freeloader? I'm just being lazy as I use the translation code for Episode 3.

I'm asking because I heard that having an action replay save on the Dreamcast VMU stopped you getting rares, and I'm obviously wary of it happening to me on the GC version.

there's no memory card with the freeloader. If you mean the one built into the AR, only if you have codes enabled but no codes stop rares from dropping.

There are no Codes but there are Items! Like the LV1300 or LV1304 Mags or the Infamous Weapons!
