New Group-Fic : PLOT 4 OUTLINE DISCUSSION

This thread is for team listings and for plot discussion for the Group-Fic contest AMONG CONTRIBUTORS ONLY! If you will not be contributing but have some ideas then PM either me or one of the people listed below and we will add them to the thread (and credit you for the idea).

Team Formation
If new writers wish to join before the contest starts then they will be allocated to a team to keep numbers even. If a writer is forced to drop out and the numbers become uneven then the other captain must donate writers to the other team until numbers are equal (or close enough to).
Once the contest starts there will be no transfers or new additions allowed.

Plot discussion
In the mean time, we will discuss suitable plot lines or ideas. I do not have any particular ideas for a story as of yet (since RotM is using up all my good ones) but I do have a fair idea on how to keep the contest structured to prevent over-run or plot collapse.

I call it the thread-point system. A plot is broken down into a series of simple points. During the story anything can happen as long as each plot-point is 'hit'. This allows freedom for sideplots etc and means that everyone has a clear and definite goal to aim for.

As an Example...
1. Giant reptile footprints are found.
2. Godzilla attacks city.
3. Eggs discovered.
4. Godzilla and eggs destroyed.

The plot-points do not have to be 'hit' in that order, just as long as the plot-line intersects each one. Plus if each plot-point description is kept simple, then it allows the writers more freedom for 'interpretation'.

Rules and other stuff will also be open to discussion (I'm not running a dictatorship here!)

The Contest
The captains will be creating private discussion forums for plot discussions etc. This means that there should be NO SPAM of any kind in the group-fic threads themselves.... But you know humans....

Judging will more than likely be through a Poll voting system, but perhaps also a panel of judges (3-5 or so) could rank each fic out of 5 in several catagories for an 'official word'.

The Plot

Votes are:

4. (M_Blackhawk) Military Seige.
Hunters storm military installation (like that bit in LotR:RotK), EPIC battles in order to allow an elite Hunter unit to infiltrate secretly.


Ok..... Revised proposed outline...

1. Hunters attack base as distraction.
2. Battle
3. one or two small 'commando' teams of hunters sneak in to complete UNKNOWN OBJECTIVES. (team choice)
4. climatic battle
5. Objectives completed OR objectives failed.

(this of course does not include all the stuff that will occur between the above plot-points)

9th - Team picks finished.
10th - Plot 4 wins. begin outline discussion. Added initial outline.
11th - Amended plot outline.

I've PMed M_Blackhawk to elaborate on his idea to base it on chapter 3 of his fic. that'll give us a starting point where we can see what sort of numbers would be involved.

And if anyone has any plot ideas then don't be shy! (but I think we should minimise on the wackier plots...)

And yes the captain will be all powerful!

Link from Ragol to Pioneer 2 is (accidentily)broken (by Elly or something else), the Hunters are stuck on Ragol

Even if I am not allowed to enter, you may still use this one. For I think it is very good
