    ...Comcast. Why?

    Link

    *points to link* That's why...

For those who dont like to click on links, the article is about a 25-year old woman who was having several problems with her Comcast Digital Cable service. In a nutshell, Comcast didn't want to bother with her problems because she called so many times. They put her on hold, disconnected the line, and even put her onto the Spanish language line. Because of all the calls she made to Comcast (because of the problems she had with their service), her August bill came with the words "Bitch Dog" replacing her normal name.

"Focused on community" my ass... >_>

That is cruel do to a women who just wants service. If they would have helped her on her first call, she wouldn't have to keep calling and bothering them. Actually, she wasn't bothering them, she was trying to get them to do their job.

As for the replaced name, I think she could sue them or something for that. But then again, you can sue everyone for anything.

    People these days.

I seen that in the news not too long ago. Those freakin' idiots! I hope she sues! It's not like their freakin' service is the best thing in the universe!

As an ex Comcast user, I say their service is crap. Their internet, which is supposed to be so gawdly wicked fast, is NOTHING compared to SBC's DSL service, which is much more reliable and better.

Comcast's tech support was lacking. (I needed them to help with an IP problem for my router.) They told me obvious crap, and soon enough I had to figure it out on my own.

Comcast's cable isn't even all that great! Overpriced crap!

WOW is a million times better on the cable front.

Comcast = Overpriced, overrated waste of your money.

When I saw the picture of her bill in the paper a couple days ago, I did a double take. It's just ridiculous!

And, yeah, Comcast has pretty terrible service. Our internet is down frequently, and I never experience anything approaching the advertised speed.
    Comcast (the liars!) said:
Maximum download speed of 4Mbps (or 6 Mbps) and upload speeds of 384Kbps (or 768Kbps)
Yep, fastest I get is ~300 kbps (for about 1-2 seconds, before it drops to 1/3 that) when downloading attachments from e-mail--and that's from the Comcast site itself.

Comcast's cable isn't even all that great! Overpriced crap!
Truth. We pay ~$90 per month for cable and internet. >_< And they just cut the Sci-fi channel.

Conclusion: Comcast fails. Although, their commercials are good for a laugh.

Hmm, comcast is a bad company indeed. Stupid? Not really. If you noticed the bolded letter in that phrase you quoted from Comcast site. "Maximum", what this is really sayin is that they "may" reach that speed but never pass it. So in effect they are not technically lying to you. Because see they are just stating for a fact that they will never be faster than "4Mbps (or 6 Mbps) and upload speeds of 384Kbps (or 768Kbps)" Now if that phrase would have been worded with "Minimumdownload speed of 4Mbps (or 6 Mbps) and upload speeds of 384Kbps (or 768Kbps)" And your service is even lower than that, you can sue them for fraud advertisement.

Yes, my mom switched to Comcast from WoW. I don't think the internet is "too" bad, but the Digital Cable sucks, and it's waaaay overpriced. I've tried getting her to switch back to WoW's 4Mbits Down / 500K/up service, but she won't go for it.

Ah well...I'm not paying the bill so let her waste money.

Actually 300Kilobytes per second, is equivilant to about 3Megabits per second (Mbps). A megabit is very different from a megabyte. Basically, divide by ten and you get a rough estimate of your actual speed on most websites. You can check your actual speeds at http://www.dslreports.com/stest You will be surpised to see how much closer you are than you might think.

I have no idea how I would react.
Primarely, I wouldn't sue them but I'd make sure something would be done.

    And then switch services.

No kidding! I (obviously) did not know that. But I still hate Comcast.

I read that somewhere and i though it was a joke but I guess its true. She should sue them, milk their asses dry. But, lol, I dare COX Communications to do that to me.
