Two other people reported having my problem too on the Tycho's excavation reports forums. I even sent a support forms about it but the tech support was, of course, clueless on what happened.
I suggested getting Plus quality snaps of SRank Cards for the database. Unfortunately, these snaps are less, "Item database," as they are, "Kickass." Such is the way of the ninja.

Forget normal runs, its all about doing the quests. After a half dozen regular desert runs with 2 Girt per run nothing, 1st time in 9-6 with my HUcast, and bam!
