Anyone got the details on this?
I've been going over the PSU Beta Trial User Agreement, and it looks like they mean business, even going so far as bringing in mention of the Tokyo District and Summary Courts as having complete jurisdiction over the terms of the agreement. I think that's mostly for your standard legal binding document rhetoric, but still... (Did they get that serious with any previous beta tests?) As far as I can tell from the rest of the text, it looks like they plan on cancelling any accounts of those who break the rules of this NDA.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but we should probably try to be careful with this.
That part about the courts and stuff is in every one of their EULA -- check near the end of the US versions PSO EULA.
Ah. That's kind of what I thought. The usual legal mumbo-jumbo, as some would call it?On 2006-04-19 22:29, Getintothegame wrote:

Basically, it says to not distribute any information on the beta trial to any third parties. Discussion of the trial is supposed to stay within the special BBS and chat channel set up for the game. Also, no cheating, reverse-engineering, hacking, etc.On 2006-04-19 22:29, therealAERO wrote:
What are we not allowed to do?
so people on PSO-World are not allowed to have the screens than?
Pretty much, you could try to mask your name or something but there's still a lot of risk involved I imagine. We'll probably be allowed to release screens after the beta or something.
Technically anything already seen or heard in public is not under that jurisdiction right?
You guys should be okay posting your pics as long as your blurb out your names. I'm POSITIVE they wouldn't be able to find out who it was based on character design as they'd have to go through 10000+ different characters and accounts.

If someone is really stupid enough to post screens they deserve to get caught, and the fact that you guys are even talking about it so openly in the forums isn't making it that much easier. If the NDA was violated the person that posted the pic would be on this site and by law they could make that users information get opened up for investigation and the owners of this site can't say no, it's happened before back on the Horizons beta.
