I don't think how non legitimate issues can affect your item rates... It is probably one of the rumors just flying out there...
it is not a rumor using non legit stuff destroys your drop rates. i know from back when i first started i was unlegit and never found a rare ever in over 100 hours of play. now im legit and that character is gone. well he got fsod'd

weapons with 127 % do.

then what version are you playin on then cuz i used weapons with 127% for over a year and never found a damn rare.
