I wanted the thing to play my Nintendo movies on, and sort of pwn $ony. My heart isn't really into it today. Such is life...
Yeah, you did kind of screw yourself over by not buying a game with it. I love my PSP, but I'm also the first to admit that the multimedia features are pretty "meh", especially the crappy web browser.
This is what you should do: go to the store, buy Lumines (it's cheap these days!), enjoy.

Daxter looked cool. Buy Daxter. I have no idea how good it is, but buy it. It looks good.
Some good PSP games.
Kingdom of Paradise - its a lot like Jade Empire for the XBOX.
Lumines - Held me down for a while on the PSP, even my mom and sister play it.
SOCOM - One of the only few games you can play online.
Loco Roco - Only cause its so wacky.
Valkyrie Profile - Classic PS1 game, remade for the PSP. Good stuff.
GTA - C'mon...Its GTA.
Mega Man Powered Up - Classic Orignal Mega Man, re-made with 3D graphics, voice acting, and you can create you own maps, share, and download other's maps online.
Those are all the games I have, +PSP homebrew hacks, applications, and games which I think is against the rules to talk about publicly, so PM if you have anyquestions about those.
After the disaster that was The Omega Strain on the PS2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for the PSP is pretty bad ass and is quite the challenge.
Loco Roco is a must own for all PSP owner's. Arguably the best PSP purchase I ever made ( not that that is saying much given the limited quality of sofware for the PSP ).
AS an rpg fan I also own Breath Of Fire 3 and Tales of Eternia for the PSP.
I bought Lumines at launch and I still own it to this day * although it has been a while since I played it ).
I have often thought about buying Monster Hunter's Freedom for the PSP since I hear plays alot like PSO.
Oddly enough, I have owned a PSP since September 1st 2005 ( launch day in the UK and Ireland ) but I have never gone Online with it. To be honest, I don't know how.
