Ugh, help with BBA and GC PSO

I just got the BBA and can't get PSO to log on to PSO

I have cable BB and have tried pluging it right to the GC and got nothing, I'm to poor to buy a router but I do I have a extra NIC card in my PC, can anyone help me get WinRoute to work with the GC?

Try unplugging the power to your cable modem for 4 minutes and then plugging the gamecube directly to it and restoring power.

Don't forget to power down the modem for another 4 minutes when hooking your computer back to the cable modem.

I've tried that, didn't work.....my isp won't let me contect with anything but the MAC id on my modem
