So yeah. I was finally starting to agree that maybe RA didn't have it so bad, that maybe the status effects really would make up for the low damage output and high cost of emptying out gun after gun.
Then Sega caught on or something and decided to ruin that aspect of RA this week with a patch.
I'm down to proc'ing roughly 1 status effect in 12 shots or more even with Dual Handguns, which means even with my crappy RA damage most enemies will die before being afflicted by anything. Large enemies like the lizard-centaurs in Shikon / Mizuraki can't be set on Fire now, period, basically ruining Fire as a useful status effect, assuming you can proc it on anything in time for it to do damage now.
RA have been stripped of any redeeming qualities at this point, save being able to use Rifles on bosses, which is hardly necessary to a group as FO and HU can do as much damage or more, they're just at slightly higher risk from having to stand closer.
