Hello,

Just giving back to the community this time.

To play PSU via xbox v1 controller series you will need to do the following:

Obtain a xbox to pc usb adapter here is list from eBay.

Download and install XBCD driver download

Download my XBCD PSU config file config file

Extract the config file to the XBCD installation directory (Program FilesXBCD).

Launch XBCD, open, select file and apply. Exit XBCD, disconnect USB cable and reconnect (for settings to apply). Here is a screenshot after the xbcd config file has been applied.

Play PSU!! This will give you the same button layout that the xbox 360 uses.

In PSU there are 2 config options you can change, go start button (open menu) > System > Options > you can turn on Vibration and set Controller to controller.

If you have messed around with the button config previously in PSU main launch screen (where you can modify video settings) please reset gamepad settings to default.

PS, this is for the xbox version 1 controllers, I don't have a xbox360 wired controller to test this config file with.

For the Xboc 360 wired controller you just need to download the driver from microsoft and then plug it in and it acts like a gamepad. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ga...s.aspx?pid=091 is where you can find the driver for it. You have to click on download on the left menu to get it. Also you can use the wireless controller if you wanted. You just need to buy a $20 USB Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802337 You can find it there or anywhere else but it allows you to use the wireless devices from the 360 on your computer.

Oh cool, didn't know about that wireless receiver thing. Might have to get myself one of those.

I wouldn't suggest getting it unless you really want to. It costs more to use that since if you don't have a 360 your going to be waisting money on batteries or a rechargeable pack and the wireless controllers cost more. The wired controllers have a 9 foot long cord so you can actually be relaxed at your computer and not worry about pulling it out.

Just a note the XBCD drivers were originally made for the 360 controller they have just recently added other controllers to the drivers. I used the stock microsoft drivers at first and they work fine, but the lack of control options in PSU led me to using the XBCD stuff wich is much much better since you can map the buttons to any kind of input you want (my triggers are now a slider wich works perfect for the camera)

I wish I had known about the wirless thing I got an offical 40$ wired controller and yes while the cord is plenty long enough 95% of the time I play with my headphones on and the two get all tangled together and its just more wires to mess with, wireless would have been SOOO much nicer and also my son likes to grab the cord ><

My big question is do you need the 40$+ Microsoft controllers or will the off-brand ones for like 20$ work also.... I was not brave enough to try but I wish I knew. Chances are even if the microsoft drivers dont work with them the XBCD ones will as they now support most regular PC game pads also.
