Card Transformations

Ok im not quite sure but just thought that i would check that i am along the right lines.

Card Transformations allow you to get cards that are not usually available to you. Such as I only have 2 of a card that i have got both times through transformation, this has been the same for many of my cards, i have like 1, 2 or 3 of them and only have these because of transformations not through finding them in the packs.
So are some cards only availavble through transformation?
I have read the episode 3 guides and just want to see if I'm on the right lines.

I never kept a record of all my transformations, but you might be right. Perhaps this is the only way to get the really rare cards offline; a transformation of a really rare card might get you an even rarer one(eg Dark Flow????).

Actually, I think all cards can be found in packs, with the exception of cards obtained through the auction online. But, I'm not completely sure.

There must be a chance to get the VIP cards offline, surely. If so, transformation looks like the best route.
