Most probably that was reffering to Partner Machinery.
You may have even misread the name of Ethans P.M. which is "PETE"

So yeah, last I heard, no pets.

I was pretty sure you knew about P.N's anyway, I think you probably read it from some mis-informed source that just assumed P.M's would be pets, so they just said pets.
