I think it would be a good idea to skip Level cap increase during a event.
Make you put some effort too it.

In Japan:

160 came with the 2nd Anniversary event (this was not long after their StD)
170 came with MAG+
180 didn't come with an event, but it was joined by Temple of Traps (fan translation)

That isn't to say it'll be the exact same, but I wouldn't expect one until the next event.

I hope to cap my main. As well as level some of my PA's a decent amount. I also want to level my other characters as well. I'll be on the hunt for as many event only items as I can be lucky to find. I hope to have fun with my friends, maybe meet new ones. I also want to play through this story quest to see how it all turns out. Pretty much the same as everyone else, really.
