I tend to eat less on days like this.
If I eat too much the day of the event, then I refuse to eat leftovers, and since there's normally tons of them, I eat a low amount.
I eat enough to get somewhat full, then I just pick on things during the day, like little side dishes and whatnot.

Here's a big tip for everyone wanting to savoir all the deliclous food:

Do not eat anything after dinner the prevoius night nor eat anything on the thursday until you eat the thanksgiving food. Starve yourself as much as you can. That's THE best way to savoir the food!

Trust me it works. I do it every year. In fact there's my stomach growling already!

Yeah...thanksgiving, it has become my favorite holiday of the year. Nothing says thanksgiving like the three Fs: Family, Food, and Football!

Every family has their own way of doing it with mixing and matching food. Me, I prefer just about everything to be made from scratch...especally mashed potatoes and stuffing! I always get to see my father's side of the family during this day since my aunt or my oldest cousin is having the dinner at their place.

How is it with you and your family? What do you always eat besides the turkey?

And again..make sure you are staved before the big dinner!

I'm currently taking my break whilst the turkey is roasting for the first 30 minutes on 500 degrees. So much drama this year because my aunt wants everyone to spend Thanksgiving together, but we (my immediate family) usually just spend the day with my paternal grandmother by bringing her home (she lives in a rehabilitation/care center a few miles away since she had a stroke during brain surgery and we can't care for her here in the house). But my aunt is trying to use my maternal grandmother as emotional blackmail against my mother, but honestly neither my sister, my father nor I really enjoy spending time with my aunt since she is one of those people who acts like she is better than everyone, and only cares about others relative to herself.

tl;dr: Turkey day drama, I'm in the middle of preparing dinner.

Anyway, everyone have a good Thanksgiving.
