Disc Cleaning Tips?

So, after a while, CDs always seem to magically get scratches on them, no matter how you take care of the disc. And because I've seen plenty of tips online, not knowing which ones are valid or not, I have to ask

What are some things that you do to keep your discs in good condition or to remove scratches on them?

Take care of them better.

Put them away when you are done using them, in their proper case. Leaving them in whatever device you had them in last will get them just as many scratches, as if you left it out on it's lonesome.

Also, buffing discs is a sign of weakness and carelessness. You can only buff discs so many times before you completely destroy the data, making the disc worthless.

i dont buff my own discs i work for a place that does my stuff never leaves it cases unless played then back in case

99% of my read errors are due to dirty laser lenses, not scratched disks. Most of my disks are in immaculate condition, with only minor scratching at worst. Nothing that would choke up a system (unless the lens is losing calibration or is dirty). On the rare occasion that they do get dirty or soiled, 70% ~ 90% Isopropyl Alcohol and a soft felt cloth usually do the trick.
