I doubt it will be coming to the states. However if it does sega will have stripped it of all bonus content and dlc. Also online would still be filled with bf/gf rooms and hackers. I'm tired of waiting so I got a jp psn acc and saving up to import the game instead.

Well I considered, for the most part, the domestic release of PSP2 to be a very good translation. Outside of PSZ, it was probably the closest we've ever gotten to in terms of getting everything from the Japanese release in the Western release of an online Phantasy Star game. The extra time taken for the domestic release, was so they could cram in a good number of content that didn't show up in the Japanese release until they downloaded it. And with all those codes, and Western-specific room posters, we may have reached a good 93% or more of Japanese content. Sure, a little voice work in the least important sections needed to go to accommodate that extra content, but it was the smaller price to pay.

With infinity, it might be a bit harder to accomplish that unless they make it a Digital-only release. That's mainly due to the PSP2i UMD already being pretty packed from the get go, instead of having that extra room like PSP2 did. So considering we were not going to have the kind of constant update support, server-wise, as the Japanese version, it was nice to get so many of the extras (they had to wait for) right in the release.

My concern is more on how it seems the 3rd parties are really drying up domestic PSP releases. Even when it comes to a digital distribution of them. They act like their Digital releases won't work on the Vita, so I don't really understand why they don't take advantage of the ability to have their software ready for all those new Vita owners, looking to bolster their library.

My thoughts EXACTLY! That would be a perfect time to release the game. I know that will be a game worth getting on that HD LCD and all those other glossy features. Plus, it elimanates that "UMD overload" issue.
