    Default PSO database error?

    Yoo ^_^

So me and a few others were talking about the which double sabers are the best when I stumbled upon something odd. One of us said Double Cannon was the strongest and the other said Black King Bar was strongest when fully grinded. So I checked the PSO-World database and there it says it got + 590-600 ATP.

I thought "no.. that cannot be right", so I started my gamecube and checked my fully grinded Black King Bar(+80) and I got the number + 760 ATP.

So my question is why does it say + 590 - 600 ATP, when it fully grinded have have up to + 760 ATP? Is this an error or does it only show the base stats before it is grinded?

An ungrinded Black King Bar will have a listed ATP of 600. When you finish grinding it up, it should be 760.

Lemme rephrase my question. Why does it not say that it can have up to 760 here?

Ugh, I am starting to feel like a pain always pointing out stuff in the pso-world database xD

Back when the PSO database was brought online in 2001, it was decided to only display the base ATP value and number of times the weapon could be grinded. It was left as an academic exercise to the user to add up numbers. I looked into changing that a few years ago, but it would have required a lot of work to make such a simple change.

My question whats with the 590 atp value if its base atp is 600? I heven't seen weapons have variable stats, but I have seen armor and shields with variable stats.

PSO weapons often had variable ATP ranges when being used. In this particular example, an ungrinded Black King Bar's ATP could vary from 590 to 600 per hit.

I believe the maximum ATP value was always listed on a weapon's stat screen.

One of the best examples of variable ATP is the Red Sword. Go and use one for a prolonged period of time and you'll notice that the damage has a huge variance each hit (and is one reason why a lot of people didn't like it).

For grinding, all you have to remember is that each grind adds 2ATP.
