Does playing Pso GC online on a private server have much lag at all?

It isn't inherently laggy, no. But it will depend on your internet connection, obviously. (And if PSO on your PC is laggy then it's probably this will be the case for PSO on your Gamecube as well. Unless the lag from your PC isn't really lag.)

Depends on the server, ship and internet connection.
Some servers had some chinese ships and on a dial up connection i had 2 problems:
- getting in the ship
- Getting out of the ship.

But generally speaking they are all good, lag is minimal.

It also depends on the connection of the party leader if you're playing in a team, as all the data for the game is being drawn off of them. If they have a poor connection, you'll have a poor connection for that game.
