    Most likely, there are at least a few other ways you can make your character stronger for less maseta investment.

    I love the idea behind this system but I think weapons should have their abilities standard at lvl 1 just to make the find a bit more exciting

    Yeah, needing to invest two +10ings is a pretty big hurdle to unlock a weapon's potential...just to bring it up to about 2/3's the damage of the JA latent lambda series. It often is not worth the cost when buying and +9ing that series will beat it. Because of that even the "best" abilities, which are still RNG-dependent, aren't really worth it. Things like random damage mitigation or random knockback immunity etc. would be great, but a 35% chance for 6-8m on average to be dealing mediocre damage the whole time is meh.

    I wish they'd take +10ing out of the equation and just leave it at the spheres it costs, or something.

    This! They could do something along the lines of:
    lv0 -> lv1 = 1 Sphere cost, 100% chance
    lv1 -> lv2 = 2 Sphere cost, 50% chance
    lv2 -> lv3 = 3 Sphere cost, 25% chance

    Would be a fair price and even have the RNG so DoDo is happy.

    Well, if you can ever afford getting say... a Psycho Wand maxed over and over (That's right, i'm telling you to get a 12* to +10 several times), its pp usage decreasing skill would be beyond nice.

    But I'm sure Dudu will laugh as soon as he sees it. And I'm talking deep, "The Empire is mine" style of laughing.

    Unlocking a potential, if you have the grinders I'd say yes. Upgrading is a big no no though. The JA bonus potential on my rifle would only increase by 1% if I upgrade the potential to lvl 2 which is completely shit compared to the 3% increase gained from just unlocking level 1.

    No point going past level 1.

    1: 17% decrease
    2: 19% decrease
    3: 21% decrease

    4% is not worth doing an extra +20.
