Before: if you attacked during an S.Roll you'd lose the S.JA Roll bonus of 100% damage.
Now: You can attack and use the S.Roll Arts PA and STILL get the S.JA Roll bonus! Gunners REJOICE!!

Ah.
Stylish Roll (S Roll for short) is the weapon action of TMGs. You use it with Shift on your keyboard or Right Bumper on a 360 controller. It's one of the better evasive actions as it as a high amount of invincibility frames, decent maneuverability and low refractory time. You use it to avoid enemy attacks without having to run clear away from the enemy and give up ground. You can use it three times back to back; the last roll in a chain has a high recovery time (but a bunch more invincibility frames), but when you're doing it right, you usually only use one at a time.
S-Roll Arts, probably not, since that 10 PP could be better spent on a real PA with actual damage, but S-Roll Up would be good for PP regen and Chain building (attack during the flip and with the JA). Still think either of them wouldn't be worth the points compared to other skills that boost PA damage.
As for performing the S-Roll, all you have to do is press Shift, or whatever button/key your weapon action is assigned to. Instead of switching to your other PA slots, you do a flip. You are invulnerable mid-flip yet you can still attack. Once you land, you get a JA circle. S-Roll JA Bonus can double your damage if you use that JA after the flip.
That, along with Windira headshot damage, is cause for celebration.
I was so sure those were "as intented."
Now all we need is those Stat Up prereqs removed and Gunner's tree could be as simple to build as Ranger's.
