Keilyn's backstory comes from doing a cross-over story between Phantasy Star and my universe called PhoenixStar. Phoenixstar was my chance at making very dark and complex stories. Keilyn was born without tech ability at first. Eventually she attempted a dangerous experiment far too young to draw out her own power. Time-altered as a dormant Void-Essence believing its life was in danger awoke and saved itself by merging with Keilyn. Her black hair was stained and it became purple, while unlocking her abilities. In order to keep her alive, she was extracted and kept hidden away with other children who were touched by a similar fate. However, the void-essences have a consciousness of their own and can track down others who have possessed them, which is why she must not depend on overcasting techs...as such would surely attract them. During this time, she trained with basic weapons in dangerous environments, usually living outdoors. One day, the village charged with taking care of the children was annihilated. Keilyn found out the essences are "Alive" and could speak through host-consciousness. This ability was what kept Keilyn away from the village and alive. She came to believe that the essences were alive and were in a state of war against each other in multiple factions. Her survival wiped out the cloak of protection of being discovered so she started using her own tech power as much as possible while searching for the other hosts...
...When a host is killed, the essence can be freed where it returns to its own world or merge with it where it extracts all power, but kills the previous essence. Keilyn chose to attempt to free each of the encountered void-essences and eventually gained the power to detect where they are mentally, at the cost of giving away her own position as well. She learned that near-death a void-essence can transfer their power and energy to another and enter a temporary dormant state. A choice was made to free the shadow-essences that were disrupting the universe and return them to the Shadow of Time, and Void of the Silver Moon through releasing them. Things became complicated because a faction arose to find, capture, and merge with the essences in order to increase power and wage war. Eventually all essences except two were released... Nearly getting herself killed, the final essence was defeated. It cost Keilyn most of her friends, along with her own homeland being ravaged by her own power to win out.
Aria appeared before Keilyn to tell her that the void-essences were not supposed to be in her universe, and that she would grant Keilyn a single wish. She begged her to release her essence and Aria said doing so would revert time causing her to die, that her essence merged with her completely in order to save itself. She also explained that her world is a gateway to many other worlds and that is how the essences ended up in her world.The essences are beings of Elemental Power and Energy, and in their own world they can take on humanoid forms. When released, they return to their universe unhinged by time and space. Keilyn then wished for the ability to meet the other essences, traverse, and survive in their own world....
Saying good-bye,
..and sneaking out, her void-essence lead her to where both, the void-essences and shadow-essences first appeared.
.....It was here where her friends found her as she was "releasing herself" to the void...and vanished from existence.
All that was left behind was a dagger, and a purple and white feather wrapped with some of her hair....and the sky crystallized in white, black and purple energy...
How she survived
How she managed to return to her own universe... is the story that continues this one.
