Can someone confirm this? He says it during Black Paper if you tell SUE your name.
Bernie is his real name. Use the word select system to confirm this.
He tells you that his name in Barnie because he doesn't want you to know his real name.

The name that is bound to that particular npc, ie, word select. His name is Bernie.
For all we know his name could be Bernard, or Bertrand, but that is besides the point.

The whole consistency thing in Episode 2 with Gallon really has me confused... maybe they person they had translating Episode 1 didn't do Episode 2 and its online quests at all or something? I guess that would kind of explain the inconsistency.
