Astrals were really much easier to get compared to Austere, even with those restrictions to gameplay time. People had months to work on those. Last month's chocolate even reduced the required number of Mothers to 4 with RDR 250% and triboost 100%. Rest of the sheet could be filled up in your own time, and very easily with alternate monsters that could be defeated.

Unfortunately drained away half of Astra's stay because college got me and forced me into hiatus for like, three months. So yeah. Kinda cramming into the last three weeks to try and get the last three copies.

Real life sucks, but at this point, I'm just making up for lost ground. Thought I would get Orbit Boots as a failsafe in case I can't get the +35 Astra, but at this rate, it doesn't look like it's happening...

That doesn't make the requirement ignoring austere weapons any less stupid.
Plus people that work and live in a poor timezone for EQs may not have had enough time to get a +35 weapon.

While Xie weapons are an alternative, why should they put effort in getting weaker weapons?

timezones are irrelevant. every class except for te has had a series of c/o based 13* nt weapons since the summer. if you don't have a 13* weapon, that's on you since these don't involve eq's at all (of which there have been plenty, and lets not pretend that valentines/white day didn't happen at all hours of the day).

It's not about how easy it is to get a +35; it's really easy if you play frequently. It's the fact that max upgraded OT endgame weapons apparently don't count despite the fact that they vastly outclass the majority of available +35 13s, which is why using it as a lock requirement is silly.

I just look at as Sega using it to force NT....after all that's been the plan anyway no? Probably will do NT Units at some point lol.

Also with the introduction ot Revolutio series for the whole year getting "a" 13* isn't that out of reach.

While I agree excluding OT is a bit messed up looking at the current state of the game it isn't too surprising.....

NT units? lol, having CF for 12* units sounds nice and all but how often do units drop any way? No doubt they'll be locked behind some EQ and have atrocious progression on the gauge.

As for OT being excluded, Sega should have simply changed all weapons to NT from its implementation if they were planning content or features around it. Then convert all related items (like grind success rate + X) to stuff that deals with NT weapons.

That doesn't really seem too fair either, though. Gating people from progression because they "Don't play regularly enough" seems a bit lousy, no? Especially when they have 80/80 exclusive content planned.

Hence why the gear gate in general doesn't make that much sense...

The Lv. 120 Pet requirement for SU at least makes sense to some degree as far as Summoner goes, but that's because Lv. 120 Pets are objectively good (although which Pet tends to vary on that point).
