I want to play PSO2 (advice for an absolute newbie)

I have been living under a rock about PSO2, cause I was really expecting to see the NA version.
After reading the news (now olds) that PSO2 NA just got the middle finger, I decided to stop my hate for them and at least try to do as much as possible to play PSO2.

I have a couple of questions whose answer I can't seem to find anywhere.

1) Can anyone in the world play PSO2 with just a broadband connection? (Meaning: No VPN's, No Secret IP, Nothing more than ports open).

2) If that's the case, where is the best place to start all the installation and registry process?

I have partially solved 2), but I don't know if it's updated with all this new Episode 2 everyone is mentioning.

Hopefully, if SEGA JP tracks so many outsider connection, they will at least know that they can't be stop being so damn stubborn with worthy franchises, and not the stupid Hedgehog.

1)Yes, anyone can play, you don't need any secret internet magic. It's technically against the ToS but as long as you don't go around being an asshat you should be fine.

2)AIDA's guide was made like 9 days ago, so it should be up to date. Her tweaker/patcher is good too.

I'm going pure katana, so I think the Mag path that I had taken prior would work for my Dewman.
