chain sawd/red sword

ive been hunting for weeks now straight caves on ult on the addicting food mission to try n drop a chain sawd ( vulmer ) or a red sword ( govulmer) and ive got nothing im realllllly starting to get impatient. is it EVEN TRUE THAT THEY DROP THERE ugh. soooo annoying help plz

Yes they drop. This is just PSO's way of toying with you. If you don't belive me Hunt A simple 9 Star rare on Hard. It will take way to long.

Hmhmhm... Have fun. The hunt for the Chain Sawd will drive you nuts. All those Vulmers and not one will hand it over... Then, once you do find it, Chain Sawds will be coming left and right.

on GC did many many runs of AF for those 2 weapons and ended up with 3 Chain Sawds but no Red Sword. the game is pure evil!

Just to throw in my opinion on Chain Sawd vs. Red Sword (I know this wasn't about which is better, and I'm not to say which is, but this is how I see it...)
Red Sword's ATP variable is wide. This means it's damage it inflicts varies greatly. Chain Sawd hits for more solid numbers, damage that doesn't vary much at all, so you normally know what you're going to land often.
Red Sword is a bit stronger, and your odds of hitting harder than Chain Sawd are more often than not... but it can be extremely annoying at times when timing combos for enemies. After a while, you know how many hits it takes to kill certain enemies with your sword combos, but with Red Sword... it can be more or less each combo.
Red Sword's paralysis special is very nice however, works pretty often.
If you're a CAST, your chance of getting the paralysis is greater than non-cast users.
However, also, if you're a CAST, you'll find that Chain Sawds unreduced Gush is a wondrous way to get your Fill on HP fast.
I also find more Chain Sawds than Red Swords, so you might end up with a Chain Sawd before you find a Red Sword.

It's more based on a matter of either preference or usefulness.
Also, nothing stops you from bringing both... I do ;D
As HUcaseal, the ATA is great for using Paralysis and sneaking in good Gush slices.

I've never had a Red Sword yet... Maybe I should hunt one... Need to find a quest that has a ton of... uhhh.... what enemy is it again for Yellowboze? Crap! I forgot.... I'm pretty sure they can find it though.

It's Melqueek for Yellowboze, Redria, and Whitill
Govolmer for Skyly.

The difference however is vast
Melqueek drop rate for Red Sword is 1/2101
Govulmer drop rate for Red Sword 1/901
Not to mention, how many more Govulmer you see > Melqueek.

yeah, it sucks. though at least on BB there is a quest where in Caves 1 and 2 you fight 99 Malqueeks. makes it a bit easier but i still ended up getting mine from a trade
