As I sit here downloading an update during a new EQ I can't help but wonder: Does the tweaker redownload the opening cinematics if it's removed them?

If yes, is it possible to just retrieve the backups before updating, so it doesn't need to?

Possibly with an additional option to remove the files it re-added during the update process, or even skip checking them altogether since it knows what it's done.

First of all, as you see, your error reporting system is not useful for understanding where is the problem.

I think you can remake it from writing a file to second thing...

You no need to ask users to create thread here and there and upload things to pastebin.
Peoples are lazy and all they bother to do is press "Yes" or "No" in message box asking if they want to send a bug report.

1. Create a page and host it somewhere.
2. Page must read address bar parameters, like... http://some_url.com/error_collector.aspx?error="blah blah blah"
3. The page can read the "error" and store it in database.
4. "blah blah blah" is better to be base64 encoded to avoid spaces problem and other junk.
5. Your prog can send reports to that page by simple opening IE with that address specified. Page could say something like "thanks for report".

I hope you will be fine to implement all that.

Is it normal that during any sort of tweaker download process it constantly stops in the middle of the downloads and i have to sit and spam "restart download" this makes it very tedious to do any big patch downloads because i can't leave it alone or no progress is done.

Maybe it would be better to get the rar files?

If you mean by PSO2 update download, you can resume from where it last stop by going to Orb Menu > troubleshooting > Resume Patching.
