1337 Guide and discussion.

Hi. I'm Logical2u incase you can't tell. I mainly write in Group Fics, usually ones with a humorous twist.

Lately, I've been experimenting with 1337 speak (or the use of Numbers and symbols in place of letters) to create a good humorous 'secret code' type language. I learned I was one of the cursed few able to understand a type this language regularly. Of course it isn't too hard.

I've been asked by a few people to translate to 1337 for them, and often I've been unable to provide due to business. So I decided to make a small chart on how to turn regular sentences and letters into 1337 speak.

(BTW: Everytime you see |. it is shifted)
A: /- works ok, but if space is a constrant, / works fine. 4 apparently is ok.
B: |3 or l3 work good.
C: ( or [ , depending on how you want it to look.
D: |) or l)
E: easy. 3
F: There is no easy way to do this letter. |= works ok, but it's a tad odd looking.
G: Another odd one. [, might be ok, (, is the alternate.
H: |-|
I: Ugh. Are you going to be using a T in your sentence? If not, just use |. If you are, try using the underline code [ u], [ /u], and `|` ...
J: _|
K: |<
L: |_. or 1.
M: //
N: ||
O: ()
P: |> works ok, sometimes.
Q: ()
R: |2
S: 5
T: | or 7.
U: [_]
V: /
X: ><
Y: `/
Z: hmmm... `/_ looks a bit odd. You can just use Z is it is important!


If you see just use one of them instead of both. The computer messes it up.

1. What is the point of this?
2. You can just use 4 for A
3. F can be done with a simple 'ph'
4. I can be done with 1, as is L
5. U can also be 00
6. If you don't want to look completely and utterly stupid when writing 1337, you will avoid using symbols.
7. If you hadn't of notices, 1337 translates to leet. Shame your guide doesn't tell us that
8. Yes, T is 7

1. I specificly outlined why I wrote it in the main body of text at the top. If you can't be bothered to read it, don't pick it out of no where and shove it in my face.
2-5, 8: I don't see you making a 1337 Guide.
6: Stupid is not a defined thing. It's an opinion. I feel that symbols can make it slightly easier.
7: 1337. thanks for the advice I forgot about that.

There are some easier ways to create many of those letters.
If you like, I could PM them to you or just post them
in this thread. Of course, as a tool to be used to
translate your style of 1337, I can understand if
you want to keep it as is.
