Phantasy Star Zero: Elemental Attribute Guide
An Elemental Attribute imbues a weapon with certain special properties. For example, if a weapon has the Heat attribute, each attack from that enemy will have a chance of inflicting the Burn status effect on the enemy - assuming the enemy is not immune to Burn. The strength Attribute is influenced by the weapon's Elemental Level. The higher the level, the more powerful the special effect will be. This guide will provide a comprehensive overview of the Element Attribute system.
To determine whether a weapon has an Elemental Attribute, scroll through the weapon's details and look for a field called "Element". In addition, common weapons will have the Elemental Attribute in front of their name. For example, a Cannon with an Ice Element will be known as an IceCannon.
The process of adding or changing an Elemental Attribute is known as Elemental Synthesis. Most weapons will have a random Elemental Attribute and Level when purchased or found. A weapon's Elemental Attribute and Level can be changed to a certain extent by visiting the Custom Shop beside the normal NPC vendors. When you visit, be sure to bring the weapon and an Element item. The Custom Shop vendor can make the following modifications:
Rare weapons - ones that can be sold for 10 Meseta - cannot have their Elemental attributes changed.
The only way to increase a weapon's Element Level is to use the Element Boost slot unit. This item gives a +1 boost to your weapon's Elemental Level, up to the cap limit of +5. A weapon's Elemental Level cannot be increased at the Custom Shop.
The price the Custom Shop vendor charges for modifying a weapon's Elemental Attribute will vary depending on the rarity of the item. Here is a breakdown of the costs:

2* | 2,500 |
