Though it doesn't actually state a value, there is an actual increase in the frequency of untekked drops, according to the official guide.

I can recall a few instances where I didn't get an untekked item when using the maxed latent, so it's still not guaranteed, but the chance of it actually happening is extremely small.

Hatou's mileage is very unstable: It depends entirely on how well you can position your hatou uses.

Assuming you are at the absolute perfect range every time (the 6-hit magic range), it's DPS is incredibly strong in a short period of time. Shunka has more damage per PP (but it takes a long time) and Kazan Nadeshiko has a superior range, but Hatou Rindou is the strongest under a time constraint.

Yes, as long as you main force, you will get that skill bonus from any type of weapon.

I would get a Lv16 Hatou & keep it handy in case the nerf to Shunka is over half its damage cut.

At the moment, Shunka trumps all of Katana's options in terms of pure damage output. However, Hatou is a safer option to use (since its designed to be used from a distance) & as you said; faster.
I think I do anywhere from 800 ~ 10,000 damage with Hatou (depending on range & if I hit a weak spot or not), but can hit over 8,000 ~ 22,000 to non-weakspots with Shunka.

If you die frequently from Shunka spam (usually seen from people bum rushing bosses without paying attention to their health/defenses) , then proper use of Hatou can still do decent damage to large enemies/bosses from a safer position.

Go fight in normal stage, and try to get lv.8 rare enemy boost, or wait for Rare enemy boost event.
EQ generally have a higher chance anyway.

Regarding the second of the two campaigns, if your PSO2 account is linked to your es account, spending AC will count toward the campaign total.

Could someone in an easy way, explain to be how adding abilities works. I just got a vibras bow that had poison IV and Lucky rise 1, i went to add shoot III and ability III and ability III failed, but shoot III succeeded.. but what i didn't realize is i thought if ability III failed lucky rise would stay intact, Did i ruin the weapon lol? Or is there some way to revert or something, as adding an extra slot has a ridiculously low percentage of working, right? -Edit[ Though i implied it i forgot to state that now the bow ONLY has Shoot III on it. ]

Sadly your lucky rise is gone, although a +5% drop boost isnt the "Greatest" ability to have anyway so no harm done (in my opinion that is).

First, to add abilities to a weapon you need another weapon (of any type, or unit if you are adding abilities to units) with the same amount of slots or abilities.
Second, when choosing new abilities to add or swap the ones you click and shown in the top middle ish of the screen are all and only the abilities that MAY be transferred after an attempt. Along with the name is the % of success.

You can add slots by having a weapon with different abilities as your own, for example say your vibras bow has shoot III and Ability III and you combine it with a weapon with stamina III and some other random ability, if you so choose, you can choose shoot III ability III, and then ADD stamina III on top of that, but be careful because adding a slot decreases the success rate quite a bit.
edit:I just reread and noticed you said you only have 1 ability left, so if you want to add a new one you would get something say mizer soul, you need 2 weapons that ONLY have mizer soul and then you can add it, however souls transfer rates are 50%, and you would be adding a new slot so it drops to 45%, however mizer soul boost the chance of shoot III so it has about a idk 75%+- chance of staying? i would suggest AT LEAST getting ability success +5% they are really cheap on my ship, only 10k and increase your chances by 1/20? haha why not. anyway hope this helped at all

To get the boost rate you only need 1 soul inolved in the process, however souls need 2 weapons in the process to be added to weapons.

Well, thats about all i know/can tell you about adding abilities as im still pretty new. Be warned its super expensive and can be super frustrating (i fail at 85-90% success more than i would like D:) If anyone has anything to add please do so.

The only way to get them would be as a drop. Spirita III is a high demand affix, so prices will generally be up there. Considering the change to affixing, even more so.

You can request crafts straight from the visiphone by anyone who has your selected recipe. Usually you want to pay attention to the shop ad and look for people with TechMaker3 and a high crafting level.

They are better, but Ketos Proi is still my personal favorite. They even buffed it so that it heals you.

There is a new thing going around that i'm curious if it has happened to anyone else. In the mining defence eq, ship 10 there are people that if you are in their party will wait until the match is won and the crystal is just opened then kick you from the party so you are unable to loot anything. There is a new thing going around that i'm curious if it has happened to anyone else. In the mining defence eq, ship 10 there are people that if you are in their party will wait until the match is won and the crystal is just opened then kick you from the party so you are unable to loot anything. I assumed it was new due to the fact that i party all the time, but only for EQS and have only very recently had it happen to me. @manthisis: Satellite Cannon, Impact Slider in particular. Diffuse Shot, One Point and Sneak Shooter are still decent as well. As for Gunner versus Ranger, you could subclass both together. If you don't use launchers, go GU/RA since you still can use Rifles as a GU main.

Yeah, a striking mag will be quite good for you then. To be frank, you should get enough Excubes to change your trigger action from daily login stamps actually, since I think you only need 2 for that and you get 2 ExCubes halfway through the stamp card anyway.

Anyway, the trigger action shouldn't be intolerable until you get the chance to change it really. Mags don't attack that frequently.

Untranslated stones are from the newest set of SHAQs, which is of course Coastal, Quarry, and Seabed. The weapons are listed in order, in sets of 3. I tend to just use PAs while wb is up, and refresh it right after it ends. In a group, you're allowing your party to do way more damage by keeping up wb for them than if you burned all the shots quickly. Solo, I tend to do the same thing. Just PAs whenever PP regens.

This is how KC works:

Push the Katana Combat button to activate.

While activated, get as many hits as you can so that Katana Finish will do more damage when performed.

When the timer is about to run out, push the Katana Combat button again to perform Katana Finish.


Also, I strongly recommend you get "Combat Escape" as this makes you TOTALLY INVINCIBLE during KC.

Skills count to it. Even Shunka...which only does 3 strikes in 4-5 seconds of the whole time you're suppose to be building up the combo...

Keep in mind the maximum damage of Katana Finish caps when you've dealt damage 30 times, so if you're just trying to hit its max damage as soon as possible to finish a large wave or OHKO a boss, Kanran/Hatou do the trick the fastest.

Edit: Also, just to be thorough (it's somewhat trouble how many people actually do NOT know this...), the finish CAN be JA'd for extra damage.

It certainly helps me alot with understanding JP on the go. Unfortunately, it only work well with windowed or Virtual FS mode, since with normal FS mode, you have to alt-tab to use it and have a risk of crashing PSO2.

people solo TACOs, so chances are... you're not going to find one.
I solo all my tacos daily in SH mode, super easy no matter what class i use, you just need to know the shortcuts/the enemy patterns and you're good to go.

Most leveling comes from emergency quests with big MPAs. You should use exp boosters during these EQs where you can easily shave off at least half of your exp bar. As for COs finish all of koffie's and do the ones that correspond with your matter board/ area that you are spamming.

MPA just means Multi-Party-Area... but the term is usually used as running with other players in a Quest or EQ.

Usually while MPA-ing... you and others just run around in circles murdering stuff until either the time runs out, or the objective of the quest is cleared.

A full MPA is 12/12, as you know.

Example of usage: "I MPA'd in order to level up my character" (I did the quest with other players to level up my character).

Clear Koffie's COs (the silver short-haired woman at one of the front desks of the main lobby). She's the one that allows you to unlock all the locations. She also is responsible for your unlocking of additional weapon/sub palette slots, additional class licenses & such.

IIRC, MatterBoard 11 is just an extra side story (think of filler episodes for anime). It isn't necessary to complete it.

I'm not sure what else to tell you. Make sure all your yellow nodes are cleared & quite a few Story Missions need to be done atleast twice (make sure you choose the other answer options / take a different path that opens up), although you seem to have done that already.

I've never run into a problem with Story Chapters not opening up after doing each (well most, not every single one) twice & making sure I took both path's. As I said before, I always make sure all my Yellow Nodes are cleared for all MatterBoards (even old ones that aren't relevant to the current Story Chapter I'm trying to clear).

I apologize if that still doesn't help you out. Maybe you could look up that specific chapter on YouTube & see what (if anything) you did wrong?

I'm not sure what else to tell you. Make sure all your yellow nodes are cleared & quite a few Story Missions need to be done atleast twice (make sure you choose the other answer options / take a different path that opens up), although you seem to have done that already.

I've never run into a problem with Story Chapters not opening up after doing each (well most, not every single one) twice & making sure I took both path's. As I said before, I always make sure all my Yellow Nodes are cleared for all MatterBoards (even old ones that aren't relevant to the current Story Chapter I'm trying to clear).

I apologize if that still doesn't help you out. Maybe you could look up that specific chapter on YouTube & see what (if anything) you did wrong?

Mix of both, there are higher exp rewarding COs from Hans, Kressidra, Franka, and Girad once you unlock their COs after meeting the requirements to unlock them.

Daily COs are also heavy on EXP rewards and mesta.

Klotho's Time Attack Client Orders aka TACOs gives massive amount of cash and decent amount of EXP on a daily base.

1.Shunka when executed when the ring is red preforms 4 powerfull attacks with a final finishing attack that hits twice, it has either the highest or second highest DPS PA for katanas next to hatou-rindou (from what i have read/and noticed when using katana)

2.assuming you have the english patch press esc->equp(second icon from the left)->edit subpalletes->click on an empty block under subpallette 1, then a list will pop up pick the middle one which (labelled "Class Skills" and has a pic of a person) and then your PB is in that list its a rainbow-esque icon and if its in english ti will say <mag type> proi, imera, or nifta click it and it will be on your subpallete now. Then in game you have to fill it up by doing and taking damage, its progress is shown on the border of the icon in the subpallette, once its full it will become colored (instead of grayed out) your mag will also do a little animation and then you can use it.

3.This is katana gear, you fill it up by doing damage and activate it by just guarding(i think its called that idk) what you do is press shift right before you get hit and you will counter-attack and the gear will activate which is seen by your character having a purple flame around it. for the duration it boosts your damage and crit hit rate

1.yes, i "think" you should get this verified as i have never done it, there is a color change pass in the recycle shop that you can get by trading in a rappy suit. although im not sure how the color pass works.

The Tundra Free Field has both as bosses. There's a Forest EQ that has them as bosses aswell. They occasionally pop up in the Forest as an ET too and maybe in other places I'm not aware of.

1. Matter board segments weren't translated in the Story Patch? I'm pretty sure it is.

2. Crafting should be like, a.) Get desired weapon betwee 1* ~ 9*, b.) place it in the crafting terminal in your room [Weapon Extension], c.) Make sure you have the needed materials, d.) press it and voila, you have finished your crafting! Those should be translated via the ENG Large Patch I think.

3. You can't change your room if you aren't Premium. Costumes can be bought via player shops.

4. I get the Webmoney from cn-usa, but it has high markup so beware. Arks-Layer .com also sells it, but has limited stock.

You have to complete a CO for Afin to unlock them. I believe it's his First CO.

I'd go with a fresh start with Gwana/power/poison + either stamina/spirita. That an easy 10m under 4s 100% affix if you know what you're doing.

they are "symbol art" displayed made by other people from thousands of shapes, to display symbol art you click the start chat or enter, and then that turns into mroe buttons and you click the shapes icon (square, triangle, circle). To make symbol art click the gears (system menu) then the top option which is the symbol art menu

It's not vital by any means, as 10 and 11* items are easy enough to find on your own these days. They do not, that's why they are only 100k ('ish).
You're best bet is to do a day or two's worth of TACOs & buy a regular rappy suit. I *think* the colored rappy suits work aswell, but I'm not about to drop a mil to find out.

To my knowledge, the Egg Blaster is a seasonal drop that drops from the Easter Rappies. Essentially it can drop anywhere that spawns Easter Rappies.

Haircolor, nope. Cast color, yes, but only while you're wearing a set of parts. An unviersal or all-race fleshy costume would lock out the cast's color option until you switch it out.

i suggest you to just level cap and not use the reset pass unless you have almost nothing in fury stance, i mean, because hunter tree = fury stance, and guard stance = completely useless in this game. ^^; and if you have not seen this thread already, you should look at it: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218099
as for your build when you level cap later on, it all depends on whether you want to be more defensive or 100% fury stance (i suggest 100% fury stance if you're definitely good enough) and the just guard skills are vital for hunter main survival, so yea.

i suggest you to just level cap and not use the reset pass unless you have almost nothing in fury stance, i mean, because hunter tree = fury stance, and guard stance = completely useless in this game. ^^; and if you have not seen this thread already, you should look at it: http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218099
as for your build when you level cap later on, it all depends on whether you want to be more defensive or 100% fury stance (i suggest 100% fury stance if you're definitely good enough) and the just guard skills are vital for hunter main survival, so yea.

AND DON'T FORGET!!! NEVER PUT ANYTHING MORE THAN YOU NEED INTO FURY CRIT/ANYTHING RELATED TO CRIT. just put enough so you unlock what's below it. I highly suggest you put enough in everything to unlock and max out fury combo, because thats the biggest boost in the fury tree of 20% total at 10 sp, very big compared to the other boosts!!!!! after you max out fury combo, put your sp into other fury stance areas. but make sure you have enough for all the gears and tech gaurds etc.

edit: if you're wondering why i'm telling you to avoid crits as much as possible, it's because crits are tremendously unimpressive/plain useless in this game, you basically just hit 100% of your attack, but your damage variance was always between 90~100% anyways, so yea (unless you have a crafted weapon, then you would hit between 60-100).

The only exception to getting critical skills is with Fighter main, and that's due to Critical Strike, along with a lack of significantly better SP investments. If you're planning on maining fighter and have a spare skill tree on HU, you can get Fury Crit maxed for some decent benefit.

Otherwise maxing Fury Critical can amount to a ~.2% increase in average damage. On any other setup, you can put the points elsewhere for more benefit.

For Soloing.... I would say GU/HU is better since it's consistent good damage all around.

For partying/MPA purposes, you could opt for GU/RA because of WB; however, in this case, GU/HU would be fine as well.

Starting as Ranger, get WB as soon as possible.

As far as "what order are your PA's in"... just try the order that you feel works best for you.

The primary PA's will most likely be:

Diffuse Shell
Impact Slider
Satellite Cannon
Homing Emission

Try out the other PA's as well and see how you like them.

im only level on my ranger, but ive been using satellite cannon (obviously), diffuse shell, and then i kinda switch around the third one, with this i do the normal tacos and have been since level 10, but an experienced ranger probably has better insight

Where to Level up Faster? --->Spam Falz EQ, or do any other EQ with full 12/12 MPA while running with Exp Booster (optional for even more Exp: stack with Triboosters).

PA order ---> it's more efficient to just spam stuff:
e.g. on weapon pallete have:

IF --->IF--->IF.

Heel Stab ---> Heel Stab ---> Heel Stab

etc.

GU/HU or GU/RA -------> If I were you, I'd go as GU/HU: it's more versatile, good for both solo and party play, all around heavy consistent DPS, steam-rolls trash mobs as if they're nothing.
