The ship order is set so that newer player will go to the later ship with less players, but you can just choose the ship you want.
If you are not fluent in Japanese, choose Ship 2.

You can change class at any time, but remember, you can only get one Mag.
Go pure S-atk for any melee class, R-Atk for range, or T-Atk for Magic based.

I can vouch for breaking boxes for tech drops, shifta 10-16s, and whatever tech disks come out of them.

During one of the recent updates, it became possible to change your Mag using a Mag cell, but still retain your old Mag cell configuration and switch between the two. How do you do this? Do you just use the cell, and it gives you the option to switch instead of overwriting? Or do you need a ticket or AC item or something for it?

Yes you should craft those, especially if they give no separate unit bonuses. Also, keep in mind, set bonuses WILL remain. It's just the individual unit being overwritten. Also, most people craft the 9* Tian units. Crafting over writes an individual units bonuses, but they also put on their own bonuses. The loss on 9* Tian units are negligible.

Illusion Rave's damage is spread out across the entire animation. You're better off using Rumbling Moon or Tornado Dance.

Actually, Iron Will has an invincibility period after you survive a fatal blow, which I think is enough to survive--this is further extended by Never Give Up. Either way, you better off just camping one sword and hide in it's zone if your MPA fails to kill the rest.

Partizan Gear only increases range and reach of PAs. Wired Lance Gear increases grapple PA damage by 30%.

Partisan Gear only increases damage and AoE of Sacred Skewer. Range and AoE for the rest.

The pass can only be obtained if you're premium. In order to buy a 10*/11*, you need to trade in another 10*/11* for a pass at the recycle shop. Non premium members will receive no be allowed to make this trade.

I'm not sure if the luther stone weapons are allowed to be traded for the passes. If not, you could do the event rain quest and hope for rockbear katanas.

So I've been on a shitty laptop now for a year and a half almost. I finally built a desktop but I can't seem to install pso2 the way I did originally. When I click on the downloader it tells me it's not available to be downloaded on my server. Yes, it is indeed true i'm inside of "senpai's backpack" but that won't last for long, if anything I just see it as a boost to help me get where I wanna be. PSE level rises whenever you kill enemies/groups of enemies ultra fast, like the moment they spawn they die type of fast (especially from my experience). when you reach PSE level 8, the burst starts, but again, soloing a PSE burst is also useless, because spawn rates are so bad if you solo. So in the end, its all about that 4 man party that can instakill everything.

Not only is it random, but you have to make sure you kill fast enough during the PSE. And even then, if you don't have a lot of luck, you might end up farming a lot of rare stones and not enough capsules for another rotation.

Fyi, it's easier to get a PSE going during any weather conditions like heavy rain, rainbow, sandstorm, etc.

I use an android so i dont know the iphone questions, but as far as this one, no you can not. You have to transfer the character each time (inconvenience, but not entirely annoying). I do it all the time between my phone & bluestacks (so i can play at work xD)

I was able to get es on my iphone 4 by downloading it through itunes. Load this up with itunes (https://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/id847216485 ) and try to download it and it'll ask you to make a Japanese account. Do that and you'll be able to transfer it to your iphone.

From what I know --

non-rares, red/blue weapons from AQ, and crafted weapons.. can all use 0% of the weapon's attack power if your Dex is the same as the enemy's
every 1 Dex over the enemy's Dex adds 2 minimum damage, until you get to 90% of the weapon's attack

Well, there are some good 11*'s like Falclaw ( ファルクロー ) and Safizaria ( サファイザリア ) but the swords are kinda pricey

Anything that would require any coordination. I've soloed the game enough to say you're better off finding at least one other person to do those effectively. Otherwise the standard content takes little trouble with decent gear.

If your target has 0 abilities, you may perform affixing with equipment having any number of ability slots, but only 1 will pass over.
Best abilities: Depends on your class, but generally anything that increases attack, PP and HP: Power/Technique/Shoot, Spirita, A "Soul" for your character's target attack. Ie. Quartz Soul, Elder Soul, Mizer Soul, ect. Finally "boost" abilities which are only obtained through special affix items.

Yep, there is a max amount of team point that one person can earn, but it is possible to save quest complete for next week, so you have to earn less next time.

Room tickets can't be used on the mini room.

To the best of my knowledge, yes they're all 3 space. If you don't want to use the terminal in your room but still want to use your support partner, then you can send them on missions using the room terminal where you can install things in the room instead.

To be honest, there's not a whole lot when it comes to the EQ time. Most, if not all, the EQ alerts are wrong a good portion of the time. You're better off afking in lobby and checking back every now and then.

If you want to use Zondeel support, I'd say Talis is better.
It'll show other people where Zondeel will be (when you're charging it from the projectile), and much safer to use too.

I don't have much experience on using Fo/Te with offensive role due to lack of T-Atk though (only using it in Solo play), but I find Talis is better for offensive too since I use Il Megid with Power Craft (slower movement Il Megid) .....

Talis with territory bursted zondeel.
Pulling aggro from others as a Fo/Te is bad, which Ilmegid does splendidly.

Other wise, talis tech bonus bumps the damage on my seimei mikami higher than my weddle park (both latent lvl3, 5 slot, 50% dark) about ~700 damage (don't exactly remember) per Ilmegid. You also have to consider throwing the talis out again every three casts or so.

Also, fire specced FO's (with good enough gear) can one shot Goldrahdas with Ilfoie. I only heard of this, never tried nor seen it done well...

The boosts on base defence do pay for themselves, and assuming three runs of the emergency, often return twice or thrice the amount of excubes with some supplementary photon spheres from recycling the clone units.

Defnitely use a 250% on the towers (both of them). Maybe the new Forest one if you're feeling lucky (I've found it to be horribly streaky -- sometimes 1 or 2 ten stars, sometimes 15). Luther is another finicky one. I never use the rare booster there.

It is 50% of your weapon's elemental modifier. So, if you fully level up that skill and use a weapon with a 20% Wind attribute, you will get 50% of that 20% towards your wind techs' damage, meaning that they will be 10% more powerful. And if you use a rod with 50% Dark attribute, you will get a half of that instead - your Ilmegid will dish out numbers that are 25% bigger than before.

I never skipped the tutorial, or the cutscenes, and when I receive the matter board quest from Xion/Shion, I can't travel to the location. I know I have to press ESC, go into the little world map thingy, then click matter board, and click the first one you get. Changing the size/theme of one part of the room removes everything (because of possible overlapping balcony furniture that would bug out if only one side/part was changed and yes, SEGA can't do systems that well)

Aside from the FC Emergency Quest (which has Chrome in the boss room), you'll have to try your luck in random fields.

Never fight him if you're 10 levels below his level. You'll get reduced exp and a harder/longer battle.

J Reversal Cover (1/5)

Since I haven't used Weak Stance so far I'm not sure if the occasional but probably greater effect of Weak Stance is preferable over general but less S-ATK bonus.
Same for S-ATK vs Comabat JA. And I wonder if I want to be able to do more solo missions as well if J Reversal Cover is a must have.
And I left out Combat Escape completely since it did not occur terribly necessary at all. Am I right?

I have a question: Does turning Shader off disable all weather effects? I'm trying to do Emeline's weather observation quest, and it seems like "Thunderstorm" doesn't happen if there is no rain.
I think I did meet "Thunderstorm" with Shader off, with the default "Simple" shader settings:

I followed the Official Build Thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218099) to lvl 13 with a Obside +3, and I tried Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Wind skills, and rarely they exceed 100 damage fighting Vol Dragon and Cave's Monster, while Ranger has >100 stable and sometimes when hit the weak spot it can reach 200, 300, 400 damage. What should I do to increase my damage?

Combat Escape is really effective for certain boss moves that you'd just stay away from instead. More than 10 seconds is overkill, though

1. No it does not, you were just unlucky, low setting or max makes no difference. Keep trying Forest Exploration and Wind & Rain EQ and you'll get it.

2. Both are good and deal high damage, but you are still low level with low tier equipment.

My advice:

Keep leveling.
Use a recommended skill tree.
Try to level a pure R-ATK or T-ATK or S-ATK mag (screw DEX).
Get 50 elem on your weapon as soon as possible.
Try to add a soul on your gear when you have decent units and weapon(s) but don't invest too much.
Crafted weapons are "ok" if don't have the stats to use an high attack weapon (because 800 atk with damage variation is still better than 250 without variation), but when you get close to Lv.35-40 change your weapon to a non-crafted one, even if it has 150-200 less Attack.

it's probably because you don't have the right techs.

I'm leveling a FO too, just make sure to get Il-Megid and Il-Barta, even Lv.1 will do. Then use Il-Megid for mobs, Il-Barta for boss.

Check the shop and buy a 50 elem dark talis or rod and 50 elem ice talis or rod, go to your room and extend it if you have at least 300 base T-ATK, get lv.5 element boost skill in FO tree and you should see a huge improvement.

Personally, I go for pure ATK. The one exception to this might be for Fo/Te, who would need another 14 S-ATK to equip Elysion (or go Te/Fo).

I know rare7 and above weapons have the 90-100% damage range over extended weapons, but do rare armor have some sort of similar benefits? I'm looking at some rare8 set I've got and wondering if it's even worth +10ing it since my current low rare extended set will have more defense in the end and better offense from the abilities on it.

Yes.

The thing that distinguishes rare units is their stronger set bonuses. Since set bonus is the only thing that is kept when extending, might as well extend a good set for you

1. The hairstyles from FUN scratch tickets are really cheap, 1k to 10k meseta most of the time. Tickets from AC scratch are usually between 100k (for fugly hairstyles) to 40m (old god-tier hairstyle), you can check the list on Cirnopedia (http://pso2.cirnopedia.info/) or swiki (http://pso2.swiki.jp/)

2. No you can't change everything for free. Eyes color, eyes pattern, eyebrows, eyelashes, hairstyle, body paint (tattoo's), makeup pattern 1&2 are free. You'll have to pay (with AC) for a remodel ticket (500AC) to change the face size, skin color, body size and the other things. Cast and Caseals can change the parts color with a recolor ticket than you get after trading a rappy suit at the recycle shop (that's 200k to 900k meseta depending of the supply/demand of the market).

3. Fastest way to earn meseta is to buy lots of AC, wait for a new AC scratch, and play the AC scratch lottery, if you are lucky you will get some hairstyle tickets, lobby actions that usually sell for 3m and more.

4. Honestly ... if doesn't matter what race you play, the base stats difference between the 4 races is ridiculously small.
Example: there is 16 S-ATK difference between a dewman and human, when you have 2000 S-ATK that means close to nothing. I wouldn't recommend to read the class description, Sega tends to exaggerate them.
However, if you plan to mix-max like crazy, it's maybe not a good idea to play the weakest race like a Force cast or a Hunter newman. But again, it doesn't really matter because you'll always see Force casts doing more damage than some noob Force newearls.

My advice is to start with hunter and then sub Fighter and Braver. It's what I did. Both are best used w/ hunter.

Just start playing -- you'll do fine. I had the same questions like 6 months ago. Just make sure your character's tits aren't too big. That's the main issue I have.

My advice:

Keep leveling.
Use a recommended skill tree.
Try to level a pure R-ATK or T-ATK or S-ATK mag (screw DEX).
Get 50 elem on your weapon as soon as possible.
Try to add a soul on your gear when you have decent units and weapon(s) but don't invest too much.
Crafted weapons are "ok" if don't have the stats to use an high attack weapon (because 800 atk with damage variation is still better than 250 without variation), but when you get close to Lv.35-40 change your weapon to a non-crafted one, even if it has 150-200 less Attack.

That's much too early. At level 35, you'll not be able to equip gear better than crafted stuff, let alone afford it. If I'm a male cast FO/TE with sub 20 levels behind, I have all of 370 base T-ATK at 35/15. There's nothing that comes close to a crafted weapon at that level. You should not consider another weapon until you cross the 550 T-ATK mark, where crafted weapons stop. According to Cirnopedia, that's 1047 T-ATK on the crafted weapon. There is only one non-crafted weapon usable at that stat range which is competitive, and it's rare stone item that you won't be able to get by that point. Your closest competitor is Chrome Evol at 855 T-ATK -- almost 200 behind and not worth switching. And remember: that's at all +10, where it's much more obnoxious to grind a 10-star or 11-star to +10 than is is to grind a 3-star to +10 and then repeatedly reforge it at 100% success rate.

If we assume 100 T-ATK on a mag (you'll be level 50 at least before that happens) and the same male cast FO/TE, you'll be level 55 before you consider switching up to 10-star weapons. Even then, it's cost for no real benefit, so you'll be waiting until the very end to move. You can actually stick it out with the crafted stick right until you come up with the weapon you want to end with. If you have a bit more cash to start with, you can also use something between a 4* and 9* weapon for the sake of appearance or ease of attainment with certain stats.

At least on Ship 10, you can often get things like a Liberation with +90 T-ATK and some other great abilities for cheap because they're abundant and generally unwanted. Start with about 200k, buy one of those and grind it to +10 and start your extension journey. Ride it right to the end and don't worry about potentials (Liberation's is crapola anyway). Once it has finally worn out its welcome, you're staring down the level cap. If you prefer an easier start or don't have the cash on hand at level 20, you can still just use a weak 1-3 star you found wherever. Easy and cheap grind to 50 and will be almost as powerful (beta weapons can sometimes be purchased with OK abilities affixed, but most of the time, you just get crap).

If you're still wondering, the answer is yes. You just need the correct weapon in your hands when the boss gives you experience.

Depends on the character in question. I've seen a couple players who's character was minimum height & minimum torso,arm, leg thickness with maximum breast size. Ends up with something that looks like a sickly / unhealthy Eiken reject.

Thanks for the thorough response. The reason I asked about race is because IMO, the PSU/PSO race differences were pretty sizable. I remember being a cast and doing far more than my newman hunter friend in PSU, and by the later levels I'd usually regret playing HUmar over HUcast.

If you're fine with them being striped where it alternates between your hair color and another color, then yes. I know for a fact that Grey Tail and Black Tail will match. I'm not sure about Yellow Tail, Brown Tail, and White Tail. Do note that White, Yellow, Black, and Brown Tail have all been out of rotation for a while. Grey Tail you can get from answering all of Astarte's quizzes correctly.
