A few scenarios I wrote in my head when I was bored. I haven't written in a while, so this is akin to me stretching my muscles, so don't judge it too harshly. That being said, I'm kind of curious as to what everyone thinks. This'll be my first time portraying other characters, and my first time posting it for others to see. I hope you guys like this little bit, I might turn it into a full blown story if the reaction is positive enough. NOTE: These scenarios are not connected to one another story-wise.

I stepped into the room, searching for one of my teammates. The individual in question was Farrid Invaal, a (mostly) human female who had a love of guns and maybe a bit too much enthusiasm when it came to throwing herself in harm’s way. Or any reckless situation, for that matter. I heaved a mechanical sigh, my foot making a slight ‘clink’ every time I tapped it against the floor. “Farrid,” I called out, “Faaaaaarrid? Oi, are you home?”
Being met with silence, I shook my head and walked toward the door to the next room, mumbling to myself “probably tinkering with her guns again…” as I stepped through. On the other side of this room stood Farrid, facing away from me, looking over a workbench with several rifles, gunblades, and launchers, all in various forms of assembly. She picked up a grey and yellow gunblade, which I noticed she smiled at as she held it up.
Suddenly, without turning around, she pointed it at me. I quickly looked back and realized there was a target plastered on the door I’d just come through. Looking towards her again, I began, “O-OI, FAR-“ But she fired, forcing me to block the incoming shot with the buckler on my left arm, causing the offending projectile to fly up and hit the ceiling. Finally realizing that she wasn’t alone, Ms. Invaal grabbed a Vita Rifle off of the table and spun around, taking a knee and leveling the rifle at me. We stared at each other for a few moments before I folded my arms and ordered, “Put the rifle down, dammit, I’m friendly.”
A smile spreading across her face, she leaned the rifle against her shoulder, “Ooooooh, Hi En! I didn’t realize it was you. Sorry about that.”
Looking back at the target, I shook my head, “Right….anyway, we have a mission soon, we’re supposed to be checking out the Tundra. We still have a little bit of time, just thought I should let you know…didn’t think I’d have a near death experience, though…..” I trailed off, shaking my head again.
“Sorry! Really, I am!” She said, holding her hand up and bowing, laughing nervously.
I heaved another mechanized sigh, “It’s fine, really…Don’t sweat it. I have to go find Cornelia, I’ll see you there.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I poked my head in Cornelia’s doorway and looked around. “Cornelia? Are you here?” I asked, knocking on the doorframe. Nothing. Stepping in, I looked around. The room was as sparsely decorated as ever, with only a table and a chair set out. Walking over to the window, I looked out over the city. This was where we worked, where we played. This city in a ship was our home. It’d be a nightmare if the Darkers ever got inside. I shook my head, dispelling the negative thoughts I was having. I was here to invite Cornelia to the pool; this wasn’t the time to be thinking like that.
“Ufufufu~ Hi En~” I suddenly heard behind me.
“Hm? Oh, hey Corne-” I started, turning around. I stopped midsentence, though; slightly shocked at what I saw.
“What is it?” She said as she took several steps toward me, giggling. “Don’t like?”
“You’re standing there in nothing but a bath towel. What am I supposed to say?” I deadpanned, turning around to look outside again.
“My, my. I can think of a few things~” She said behind me.
“This woman is definitely trying to tease me.” I thought to myself. “J-just listen. Unmei and the others are going to the pool; they wanted to know if you felt like joining them.”
“That sounds great!” She exclaimed, clapping her hands together. “I have a new bikini I can wear!”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I lay against the wall, the lights covering my body flickering, my legs unresponsive. I thought I heard voices…calling me. “En….? En…?!” I looked up to see the concerned – and bleeding – Cornelia, kneeling next to me. “Good, we thought we’d lost you…”
“Peh!” It was then I noticed the small frame of Ce’Nedra behind Cornelia, a sharp, Quartz blue Wired Lance in each hand. Her yellow Tiger Pierce outfit was dirty, as was her person, and she was breathing heavily.
“We need to get you out of here, En….” I heard Farrid’s familiar voice trail off. Her shoulder was exposed, the green Tiger Pierce she wore torn away in that spot, her face and outfit dirty. Both her aqua eyes and the blue line on the Vita rifle clutched in her hands seemed to almost shine in the darkness of the tunnel we were in.
“Why should we? It’ll just slow us down!” Nedra argued, not willing to risk herself any farther for a Cast.
“What!? No! He’s our friend!” Farrid retorted.
“It is scrap.” Nedra shot back, turning around. She had a shallow cut across her midriff.
“That’s enough, you two! We’re getting him out of here.” Cornelia half-yelled without turning around, silencing both of them, save for Nedra’s timid “Y-Yes, Corny….”
Then, silence….
“…No, you’re not, Cornelia.” I finally said plainly, which caused the already quiet hallway to seemingly fall even more silent, as well as causing all three of them to look at me with a look of surprise. I looked at Cornelia. She had a nasty cut on her arm, which she was holding, her entire body looked like it was covered in dirt, she was shaking, and the scar on her face had re-opened and was bleeding. She definitely looked like she’d taken the worst of it, myself not included. I heaved a sigh, “Despite Ce’Nedra’s arguments being fueled primarily by racism; she’s got a point. I will slow you down, considering my legs aren’t operable. Better for you to leave now, rather than drag this sorry skeleton with you.”
“No!” Cornelia said, standing up and stomping her foot into the ground. “You’re leaving too!” She immediately grabbed one of my arms and attempted to pull me up. This caused one of my legs to spark as some of the energy arched, causing Cornelia to let go of my arm in surprise with an “Eep!”, causing me to crash back down to the floor.
“You stupid scrap heap!” Ce’Nedra threatened as she pulled Cornelia away from me, “I oughta –”
“You won’t do anything to him!” Farrid fussed, starting to raise her rifle.
“ENOUGH!” I yelled at all three of them, finally angry, “Just go, already! Don’t stand here and start to turn on each other when you’re perfectly capable of escaping! Go! Now!” I struggled to get into a sitting position as I spoke. Cornelia and Farrid looked hurt. Ce’Nedra grabbed Cornelia’s hand, and started pulling her.
“See? He doesn’t even want to be saved! Let’s go.” She said, thinly veiled triumph in her voice.
As Cornelia allowed herself to be dragged away towards the door to my right, she glanced back several times. The door slid shut behind the two, somehow still functional. “Well, your turn, Farrid. Go on.”
“B-but, I can’t just leave you here.” She said, semi-distraught, “I mean, you’re our partner, you’re my friend…”
I nodded my head, “Yes, and as such I can’t ask you to stay here and most likely end up dying. You and I both know that. Now you need to –“
I was cut off by a screeching noise down the hall to my left. “You have to leave, Farrid. Now.”
She looked towards the source of the screeching, then to me, and then the door Cornelia and Ce’Nedra had left through. Suddenly she dropped her rifle and threw her arms around my neck. “I will come back for you.” I hung my head as I pat her back, knowing I couldn’t keep arguing with her.
“I know,” I said simply, “The faster you move…well, you know. Now move, soldier, move.”
She picked her rifle up and quickly stepped towards the door. When she reached the frame, she turned around and waved, a small smile on her face. Then she ran off, presumably with fire in her eyes.
She had looked like she was about to cry.
Shaking my head, I swapped to a gunblade and pulled it off my waist after it had formed. I switched to shoot mode, and calmly raised it at the door panel, and fired, hopefully preventing the door from being opened.
Taking the gunblade in my left hand now, I pointed it at the darkness to my left, where the first creature was beginning to emerge, and fired.
